Dispensary of Hope
MSMC invites its members to join The Dispensary of Hope (DOH), a national not-for-profit, that reduces medication waste by redirecting unexpired medicine to safety-net clinics serving uninsured patients.
The DOH Medication Upcycling Program allows physician practices to donate medications free of cost through a provided donation bin and pre-paid UPS shipping.
The program is mutually beneficial for practices and patients. By donating sample medications to the program, practices save money by reducing medical waste costs and increasing compliance on logging out expired medications, all while providing vital treatment for thousands of uninsured patients annually. Your practice may also be able to report a portion of its donation to the IRS as a Community Benefit service.
DOH is expanding nationally to serve hundreds more clinics and thousands more patients. With the increased need for medication donations, MSMC encourages you to support this important program.
Dispensary of Hope is sponsored by the Milwaukee Health Care Partnership through a donation from the Northwestern Mutual Foundation.
