BadgerCare Plus

Primary Care Alliance Update

BadgerCare Plus originally started as a health insurance program for children and their parents and is now expanding to childless adults. BadgerCare Plus is designed for people who do not have access to health insurance.  Below is a list of the phases for the Path to Comprehensive Health Care Reform.

• Phase 1 = BadgerCare Plus Health Insurance for All Kids (2/1/08)
• Phase 2 = Childless Adults Expansion (1/1/09)
• Phase 3 = BadgerChoice/Small Business Health Insurance Reform 
  • (under development)
• Result =
  • 98% of Wisconsin residents will have access to affordable insurance
  • Lower costs for small businesses and their employees
