Milwaukee BadgerCare Plus Task Force

Enrollment Update

The Milwaukee BadgerCare Plus Task Force has been charged with bringing together key stakeholders in Milwaukee to implement a comprehensive BadgerCare Plus enrollment strategy. To achieve their goals, the committee has split the project into two phases.


Objectives of Phase 1 (December 2007 – May 2008):
• Providing feedback and outreach strategies to the DHFS and Milwaukee County prior to the implementation of BadgerCare Plus
• Identifying outreach resources
• Actively participating in outreach efforts as appropriate


Objectives of Phase 2 (June 2008 – March 2009) include
• Continue to monitor and modify outreach strategies as appropriate
• Modify the enrollment strategy for Childless Adults Implementation (January, 2009)
• Identify systemic issues that may contribute to gaps in coverage or barriers to enrollment


Since February 2008, enrollment increased in Milwaukee County by 10,932 while statewide enrollment increased by 68,166.
